Breaking News! Venue Change

We are delighted to announce this change of venue!

You're invited to head over the Rail Trail on Saturday February 3 and join the fun.

The 2007 Park City Winterfest Celebration kicks off Saturday, February 3, with the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race.

Mushers from around the world are racing to Park City from Jackson, Wyoming, and the final stage of the race will take place in Park City along the Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail from noon to 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 3.

The Race Start Area located near the Rail Trail Head in Parking Lot G at 1801 Prospector Avenue will be filled with mushers, their sleds, and over 450 dogs eager to run.

The atmosphere will be festive with live music, merchandise for sale, information booths, and give-aways, too! The race starts at noon so get there early for a chance to meet the mushers and their dogs. A Junior Musher Race with students from various middle and high schools in Wyoming and Utah (including students from Park City’s Ecker Hill Middle School) will follow from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Parking is free and plentiful so pack a lunch, bring some sunglasses, and enjoy a unique opportunity to see sled dog racing in your own backyard.

See you there! This race ends at the Promontory Trail Head so there are lots of locations to set out your lawn chair and watch the fun!

BikeDance

"Don't let the lack of snow get you down. With the recent high pressure, the winter riding conditions are absolutely epic!!! Round Valley, Lost Prospector and Blackhawk are all rideable. Just lower your tire pressure about 20% and bundle up, especially the toes, fingers and head. You need to focus a little more about staying on the trail, because you tend to sink off trail and start with a climb to warm up. Tubeless tires, disc brakes and a full suspension are nice, but tubed tires, v-brakes and a hard tail work too. If the snow doesn't warm up too much, the afternoon is the best time. The best part, you don't have to wash the mud off your bike when your done!!!"

Thanks Bo for the report..

Klunkerz and Round Valley riding

Went to the X-Dance Klunkerz movie last night and it was standing room only.

While waiting for the doors to open I talked with local riders Chris Peters and Doug Dalton and they were raving about the riding in Round Valley.

Since the lack of snow in Park City has made the trails pretty darn good.

They were saying that it is almost better than summer riding because there's no dust and your tires are clean after the ride.
